How an expert real estate copywriter can attract the right buyer at the right time

There is a true art to writing superior real estate copy. As you read through magazines and the internet looking for properties you will come across some very poor examples of real estate copywriting. These are the ones with poor English, awful punctuation and no flow. The bad ones believe that they are doing their best by just listing the features of a property without actually engaging with the one person that matters – the potential buyer.

As an experienced and renowned copywriter I know that the key to great copy is offering a mix of great imagery, clearly explaining the benefits of the home to a prospective buyer and an accurate description of the home’s features.

The words must engage the buyer immediately. As the buyer flicks through web pages and magazine pages they skim, looking over pictures until they find a property that fits some broad criteria.  Then they stop and read. If they don’t get what they’re after in the first line, they move on.  It’s that fast.

If my words attract a buyer to the property, then the agent has a very easy time of selling the property’s benefits once the buyer is inspecting.  The buyer has already been told by the copywriter what the key benefits and features are, so they have already imagined walking the kids to the local school, entertaining on the masssive deck or cooking in the gourmet kitchen. The agent’s job is to then either get the buyer to the auction or get them to make an offer.
